Sharon Stone attends the Gorby 80 Gala at the Royal Albert Hall
in London in a Christian Dior gown.
in London in a Christian Dior gown.
Oh, Sharon! There you are!
Darlings, we wanted to start a W.E.R.Q. feature to salute the gals who finally, for once, got it right on the RC. "WERQ!" is what skinny obnoxious twinks shout out when they feel that someone is, well, working it. We are neither skinny, nor twinks, but we are obnoxious as hell, so it's a perfect fit for T Lo and their Bitter Kittens. In fact, we asked our minions to come up with an acronym for WERQ, and credit must be paid to loyal kitten Dr. J, who came up with "When Everything's Right Quotient." WERQs for us.
Much as we adore Sharon for her easy, breezy form of insanity, even we have to admit that her red carpet fortunes have declined considerably since her pairing-a-Gap-t-shirt-with-couture salad days of the '90s. We firmly maintain that a woman who's entering middle age and has more than done the work in selling her looks to the world for the previous couple of decades can and probably should have a little fun with her fashion because she's earned it. We like when she goes out in outfits that would normally allow her to panhandle for change if they weren't worth tens of thousands of dollars. But we also like to see a demonstration now and then that she knows what she's doing and she can still turn out that old-school Hollywood glam when she needs to.
This isn't our favorite dress in the world, but it's probably the best she's looked (conventionally speaking) in ages. We're not super-crazy about the hoop earrings, which seem a little discordant with the tone of the look, but everything else screams "movie star," and all we can say to that is "GIRL! WERQ!"

Darlings, here's the perfect lunchtime post. All you have to do is scroll down to enjoy all the fabulous shapes and colors and textures that make up China Fashion Week. Don't think, just let your eyes have some fun while you recharge your batteries. We were going to suggest playing some accompanying music but then we realized that would be such an individualistic, personal thing, that we couldn't possibly make a suggestion. We'd rather turn it into a question: Which music would you suggest as the sound track to this post?
