I just checked my I140 approval notice and it shows LUD as July 28th 2007

I am totally confused as to why it shows that since my I140 is approved since a long time .

I have applied for 485 on June 29th 2007 and it reached USCIS TSC on July 2nd 2007.

Does the LUD on my I140 have anything to do with my 485 Application ??

Please advise ?

It looks like I replied you sometime back.

Your best bet is to file another premium H1B showing all the background and your second I-140. Also attach a clear letter quoting the specific sections of immigration act. Time is critical here, and I am not sure how long the MTR for an H1 will take.

The AA battery holder is for LAST RESORT use only. It was never designed for continous use. If you did it would get very expensive very quickly.

You didn't say what kind of batteries. If they were Ni-Cads or NiMH, they only supply 1.2 volts. The D100 requires 1.5 volts.

Also, you might try mounting a newer AF lens to it just to see if its the older lens. Hopefully the lens you used isn't pre-1977. If so, you may have damaged the body.

I am planning to get my H1B stamped in Chennai, India.
I got H1b extension last month for 3 years. I am planing to visit India in the month of Aug.
I need to know when do I make an appointment?
and will my name be added to PIMS if I make an appt?

Do I have to go to Chennai or I can go to any other Consulate for stamping?

What about PIMS verification, is there anyway I can have my name added to this database before I travel to India?

If employer is asking pay cut becuase he is in trouble, you should change the job. I don't think he will do anything (or pay you douple), if you are in trouble even if he is making good money. Move on..

I have no knowledge of Nikon's lenses.

But really no-one but you can tell what lens you may need. It depends completely on what your photography style, subjects and conditions are. Same as if I asked you what car I should buy: If I like to drive fast on mountain roads, a sporty model would be great. If I have five kids that need taking to school every day, I need a minivan. If I work as a builder and need to transport material, a proper van or truck is what I need, etc, etc.

If you do a lot of indoors photos with poor lighting, a big aperture lens is what you need.

If you do a lot of outdoors wildlife shots, you need a long telephoto lens of some sort (300mm or more), preferrably with a big aperture so that you can get some decent shutter times in morning and evening light conditions as well...

If you do architecture and need wide-angles, something like the Sigma 12-24mm superwide zoom could come in handy (I'm sure Nikon does something similar, but I just don't know the Nikon lenses well enough to tell you what it is).

A 100mm (or thereabouts) macro lens is always a good thing, as it allows you to take close-ups, and can double as a portrait lens and any other duty where a 100mm lens is appropriate.

Think about the situations where your photography has been limited because the lens wasn't doing what you needed it to do, and figure out what lens would do the job for you. Then figure out how to afford it. ;-)

03/12/2006: Comprehensive Immigration Reform: EB-2 vs. EB-3: Time to Consider Filing of Concurrent EB-2 and EB-3 I-140 Petitions?

* All of the comprehensive immigration reform bills in the Senate except the border security bills propose to increase the annual EB-3 numbers substantially. On the other hand, these bills propose to reduce annual allocation for EB-2 in terms of the percentage. When combining EB-3 for skilled workers/professionals with EB-3EW for unskilled workers, the combined EB-3 will run as high as 60% plus and minus. Besides, should Sen. Brownback amendment be legislated into law, a large number of nurses/physical therapists will be taken out of the burden in the EB-3 visa numbers. In the BECs, there still remain a huge number of mostly EB-3 cases including unskilled workers which will take out the immigrant visa numbers in the future, probably before the summer of year 2008. Still, 60+ of the total "increased" employment-based immigrant visa numbers must add upto a large number. Contrary to this trend, a large number of cases are filed in the EB-2 category these days. Considering the fact that EB-2 numbers may be reduced or maintain at the current level at best, EB-2 visa numbers may increasingly face the pressure.
* We hope that the history will not repeat itself. In the 1990s, there was a time when the EB-2 numbers were more oversubscribed than EB-3 for China. One may wonder whether it is time for the EB immigrants who attain the EB-2 labor certification to consider filing of EB-2 and EB-3 I-140 petitions concurrently or sequentially against the situation which reveal worse oversubscription of EB-2 over EB-3, particularly P.R. China. EB-2 labor certification is eligible for both EB-2 I-140 petition and EB-3 I-140 petition. It is a matter of paying additional $195 filing fees. Something to think about.

all i am saying is whether u r in eb1 or 2 or 3, we are all in a deep sh**t of this retrogression, you would never know, whether its good or bad being in a certain category in GC process, cos, most of the process su***s according to me. my perception is , if u have job in this country u work, and in this period, if u get ur GC, its good, if not, its not our fault. We are doing our part by supporting organisations like IV. But there is so much anti-immigration scentiments out these days, we get defeated so easily (eg S.1932). Work with IV and leave the rest to time.

RN starting from WAC. But I filled EAD in NSC. Also have RN for EAD. It does not matter. You have to file EAD based on state you live. Because of July fiasco they had sent 485 cases everywhere so those RNs are from all over.
But for EAD it does not matter where 485 was filed only thing that matters in where you live.

Could you update your profile please. Your profile says you are from Afghanistan and other details are missing.

The delays you pointed out are actually being discussed by IV core at this time (part of our 2009 plan if members want to) and we are thinking of making a case for it. In order to do that we will need statistics on our site to prove how many people (our members) are affected. We can use that % dataset to determine the similarity with overall similar cases. We can also use the statistics to make a case for all cases that are current for a long time and still waiting. We will need community's help if you all want to use the stats and graphs for our presentation on this advocacy effort. This effort will be successful if we get help from all members EB1, EB2 ROW and others in all categories that are current for I485 or are outside their application processing times for their other immigration applications. This may become one of our 2009 push and we can work on it.

Writing letters is good. But they need to be backed by a campaign and IV name needs to be behind it to make it a national campaign. Not sure how much individual letters may help as we have learnt from past experiences.

Good you posted this thread. Let us have a discussion what EB1, EB2ROW and others that are current want? And also what people whose I140 etc is stuck and are outside processing time want? Are they willing to support such campaign? Can these people get all such folks together on this platform to run this campaign?

I am pretty sure we are in the last state but I will check that and make sure when I get home tonight. We have filled out forms called Packet III and sent them in. I was told that we are waiting for a gereen card number available so we can get a consular processing date. And I tried calling immigration couple time with our case number starting ANK...(for Turkey).I was told by them our case was approved too...

It has been much more then 6months...so you are saying that she can change employers.Very interesting...The lawyer told us otherwise.

I got my EAD through my primary Employer. I am currently working on EAD but with a different Employer (NY State Agency) who doesn�t encourage GC processing, so did not file my AC21 and been working for over a year now. I still have good rapport with my primary Employer. Now I am scheduled to go to INDIA for few weeks, my question is " whom should I say is my Employer " if the immigration officer asks me at the port of entry (JFK). Please advise as I will be carrying my current pay stubs.

I recently came back on AP through Atlanta. I have changed the employers and have not applied for AC21. In secondary inspections, I was asked about where I work and who sponsored it? I did tell the sponsor as my old employer and for where I work gave current employer's name. It should not be problem entering thru AP. Another person with AP was not even asked any questions and they just stamped it and gave it back.
Also the they were discussing about the combined card for EAD and AP, when they would implement it so that they do not have to stamp and enter the information at several places for AP.
This guy was even strange that, when I gave him two copies of AP, he gave one back and said he needs only one. He just took a copy of it after entering and stamping it.

Strange are the ways they behave. When I entered thru Chicago using AP last year, the officer was praising me for giving him two copies and did not even send me for secondary inspection, as everyone before was only giving him one copy and they were searching their bags for the second copy????
