just started folding again - made my self a new account and changed teams to mac rumors - at the moment im only at about 1/3 folding power about (1100 ppd) Sunday or Monday will be adding my new main mac to the team :)

I was gonna come to the Regent Street store, but I didn't have enough time, so I went to the Kingston Bentall Centre store instead. Got there at 6 but the queue only took 5 minutes and I easily managed to get a t-shirt. When I left at 7 there was still loads more t-shirts, but it had got pretty quiet outside, so I went back in and got another t-shirt. :D

Set your phone & computer's time zone to Arizona time, and sync again. Does that help?

Their success is based on IBM's failure to realise how important that market would become. They have not built their success off of making good products.

And Microsoft Windows Server ? really ? Is it successful because I have to install 30 of those to run a simple SSO db like AD whereas I can run eDirectory off of 3 Sun boxes and achieve the same results with about 100 times more objects in the directory ?

But this story is about a guy who manages data center, not about Microsoft's rise to power and their illegal moves to remain at the top for years. And their data center seems to have been top notch, since you rarely hear of Windows update not working or Microsoft.com being down, or MSN messenger not responding or Hotmail.com being on the fritz.

Friday is usually the miscellaneous sessions day, when the less important (or popular I might say) sessions are held. Of course you can leave whenever you want but Friday is still a full day. I would plan on staying the entire day if you can. Leaving Saturday morning is best as you can relax on Friday :)

Last year, in the original schedule, all sessions on Friday ended before lunch and lunch was the last item on the schedule. During the week, they added a couple of repeat sessions in the first slot after lunch. But, still, all sessions were over by 3PM.

I don't expect Apple to post the full schedule 'till a couple weeks before the conference. (I agree it would be nice if they posted it sooner.)

Does anyone know if this update fixes the issue of Office depositing some 'recovered files' in the trash upon every boot?

In answer to my own question, I've found out that Office 2011 STILL puts random 'wkresources' files in the trash upon bootup. What's up with that?

The only thing that would be news worthy would be if a DST went off without a foulup from iOS.

I don't think Pages is horrible. It's not great, but it isn't quite as bad for me as everyone else finds it. I don't use it all that much (Keynote gets used far more than Pages does).

I'm with you. I'm new to the world of Mac and I want to stay clear of Word. It's not a great app, but it's something I'm getting used to.

Same with Keynote, different approach, but I like it better than the world of PP.

I agree with you bump in processor speed won't be the key point to entice people to buy a SB MBA - there should be something more, either larger SSD storage for the same amount of money, or connectivity (TB) or better display, or better battery, or all of them. Providing incremental upgrade in speed is obviously not what the so called 'average user' need in an MBA - so many topics there are on the subject on MR.

And here people were hoping something would come along and topple the iPod. I had to check the Zune out for myself, it's basically dull-finished 1st Gen iPod clone. And now with iPod friendly skies, the bastardized iTurd will have very rough waters venture through. Go Apple. :D

"Ahead" in what terms? Sure, public transport is used considerably more in Europe than in the US. Reason? Gas prices (oh yes, and the fact that you can't get a parking space in the big cities just makes it more convenient).
But is the actual infrastructure worse? From a european point of view, that is hard to believe.

What I am talking about is in the majority parts of the USA. New York, LA, Chicago, Boston, Miami, etc etc all have a public transportation infrastructure. Where I live, in what is considered "rural" USA the only form of public transportation is a taxi. There are no city buses, no rail system, nothing. If I need to go somewhere I have to drive there.

I live in Missouri, which is 69,704 sq mi. England is 50,346 sq mi. So when you travel from one end to the other (North to South, or East to West) of England you have gone from one end of your country to the other in 3-6 hours. Here, If I left now and traveled for 3-6 hours I would leave my state but I would be no where close to the edge of my country.

We are so spread out as a country and because of that our public transportation, unless you live in a city with 500,000+ people, is crap compared to European countries. You can travel anywhere in the City of Paris or London for one flat fee with the subway system. When I was in England staying in Belper, it cost a couple of pounds to travel by train to Derby. If I was to pay a taxi to take me to St. Louis, or Kansas City, damn....probably cost me $2-300.

I wish the USA would build a high speed rail system and have a station here where I live. They built a highway system, why not a rail system?

I just read an article on cnet that Intel just did a demonstration of a 4.5 ghz P4 that they overclocked to run at 4.7 stable. This thing looks like it could smoke anything in it's path. Hope Apple is whipping up something special soon...
