The LA Galaxy announced Friday that, in collaboration with adidas, they will debut a third jersey in July. The team will wear their new jersey for the first time on Monday, July 4 against Seattle Sounders FC at The Home Depot Center (the match kicks off at 7:30 p.m. and will be broadcasted on ESPN2, ESPN Deportes, and ESPN3.com).
The third jersey will be revealed three days prior to the game on July 1st. Fans will be able to begin pre-ordering the jersey exclusively online via www.teamlastore.com.
The official unveiling of the Galaxy’s third jersey will be held at an exclusive VIP event in downtown LA July 1st. This will be the first opportunity for fans to view the new jersey. Additional details will be released in the near future.
What do you all think the new third jersey will look like? Since they already have a white and a blue, maybe the new one will be gold/yellow to follow through with the team colors... that's my guess!

Rumor of the Day: David to Stay as Galaxy Coach After Contract Ends this Year
0 comments Posted by admin at 8:50 AMBy Tom Hopkinson of The People
David Beckham will be offered the chance to stay on as a player-coach at Los Angeles Galaxy when his five-year deal expires in November.
Becks, 36, reaches the end of the huge contract he signed when he left Real Madrid for LA in 2007, at the end of the current MLS Season.
The Galaxy will offer Beckham the chance to play on for another term, while also taking more of a role in Bruce Arena’s backroom team.
And the new deal would allow Beckham to return to European football from January to April next year.
Beckham spent three months training with Tottenham last season and had spells at AC Milan in the previous two seasons.
Beckham and his advisors have had initial discussions over his future, but nothing has yet been finalised. As People Sport revealed back in 2009, Beckham has a clause in his MLS contract which lets him buy a franchise once he hangs up his boots.
And he and Simon Fuller – who looks after Beckham’s business affairs – are still keen for that to happen.

Last night, the Los Angeles Galaxy took on DC United at the Home Depot center. The end result was a disappointing tied score of 0-0.
Even though David was appointed Captain in last night's match as Landon Donovan was away with USA duties, he still was extremely dissatisfied with the way the team played. "We have to forget this performance," Beckham said. “It was a disappointing performance, no matter who's not playing."
Head coach Bruce Arena wasn't thrilled either: "I think our performance tonight was totally poor," Galaxy coach Bruce Arena said, adding that Donovan's absence had "nothing to do with" the team’s poor display.
The Galaxy defense did its job once again though, posting the team’s fourth consecutive shutout and earning a point for the MLS leaders (8-2-6, 30 points).
"Shutting them out was probably the only positive tonight," midfielder David Beckham said.
LA Galaxy News and Notes:
- Friday night sightings at the Home Depot Center: Dutch midfielder Wesley Sneijder watched the match with his wife... they sat near Victoria and the boys
- Davies said was disappointed because he didn't received a national team call up for the Gold Cup, but was pleased that coach Bob Bradley called him before naming the squad to explain his reasoning.
- Captain Landon Donovan was named the MLS Player of the Month for May... he scored six goals in seven games as the Galaxy posted a 4-1-2 record during the month.
- Arena said Angel picked up "a minor knock on Wednesday" and didn’t recover in time to play in the match but he will be ready for Saturday.
- The team will host Toronto FC tonightat 7:30 p.m.
- The Galaxy announced they will debut a new third jersey for their July 4th match against Seattle Sounders FC and it will be unveiled July 1st at a VIP event in LA.

The LA Galaxy will host D.C. United tomorrow (Friday - June 3rd) and they will also honor local Southern California military men and women with 1,000 free tickets.
The Galaxy will once again be short-handed this season with Landon Donovan and Donovan Ricketts participating in the Gold Cup this weekend. With Landon Donovan out of the picture, the captain of the Galaxy will be David Beckham. With Ricketts also playing for the United States, the Galaxy will lean on Josh Saunders to pick up the slack between the sticks as the Galaxy goalkeeper.
This is the second meeting between the D.C. United and the Los Angeles Galaxy. The first match resulted in a tie when the two played in Washington D.C. With this match taking place at the Home Depot Center in Carson, the Galaxy will still have an edge despite missing two of their most important stars.
Juan Pablo Angel will have to step up in this match and give support to Beckham. Chad Barrett is another Los Angeles Galaxy scorer that will need to come to the fore front.
The Galaxy-United tilt is the featured MLS game of the week on the Fox Soccer Channel and the star of the show will undoubtedly be David Beckham. With Landon Donovan away at the Gold Cup, it is the perfect opportunity for the Galaxy to promote some of their other incredibly talented stars.

David Beckham's latest yellow card has resulted in an automatic one-game suspension for the Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder.
Beckham received the booking for a reckless tackle during the first half of Wednesday's scoreless draw against Toronto FC. It was his league-high fifth yellow card through six games.
Beckham must sit out Sunday's match against the Chicago Fire. Galaxy forward Juninho will also miss the game after earning a pair of yellow cards on Wednesday.
Beckham is playing in the fifth and final year of his original contract, but recently said he'd be open to returning to MLS after this season. He leads the team with three assists.

The Galaxy vs United matched ended in a 1-1 draw but that didn't sit well with midfielder and captian-for-the-time-being David Beckham.
“Disappointed, disgusted,” Beckham said. “I felt we deserved the game. There’s no reason why we shouldn’t be walking away from this stadium tonight with three points.”
On the play that led to the penalty, United’s Branko Boskovic slipped a through ball to Davies, who found himself one on one with Galaxy defender Omar Gonzalez. Davies juked toward the endline, to which Gonzalez reacted by reaching out his arm. The United striker, upon feeling the slight contact, took a tumble.
Referee Abbey Okulaja pointed to the spot and United had the opportunity they’d hoped for.
It might have been a different situation if the Galaxy had been at full strength. Despite coach Bruce Arena’s midweek assessment that Donovan needed rest, it seems a knee injury kept Donovan from traveling with the team.
Still, the visitors did well to work together, to play as a unit and that play, Beckham said, should have been rewarded with more than just a point.
“I don’t think there’s much to improve on because I think that we played well,” Beckham said. “We passed the ball around well, we worked well, we defended well, so we just need to continue that. There’s not much that we need to work on, but we need to just work on obviously playing like that again and hopefully winning.”

Very rarely do you see the Beckham boys act out... kudos to Victoria & David's parenting skills! But this weekend at the LA Galaxy vs the Philadelphia Union game at the Home Depot Center, the boys looked like they were busy being boys... so Victoria made sure their play didn't escalate even further. Mommy Beckham even did something my own mother did (and still does) - point that finger to prove her point!

David Beckham was asked to wear the captain's armband for the Los Angeles Galaxy for the first time in three years. Coach Bruce Arena decided that Beckham would be the captain for the team's game at Real Salt Lake because the regining captain, Landon Donovan, missed the match because he was with the U.S. national team for its exhibition against Argentina in East Rutherford, N.J. David took over as captain when he joined the team in 2007 but last captained the Galaxy on Oct. 26, 2008. "Yeah, Bruce has asked me to wear it, and I'll be proud to wear it," Beckham said. "It doesn't change the way I play. It's something you're very proud to wear, but you need more that that one leader on the field."

The football star enjoyed a boys day out with his young sonson March 4th with a kickabout after training with his team. Becks was head to toe in his LA Galaxy gear, but instead of supporting their father's latest team, his youngest sons opted instead for rival English club kits.
FYI... the Galaxy lost the friendly 4-3.

Right now, David Beckham is overseas keeping up on his fitness by training with the Hotspurs but the LA midfielder is expected to be back at the Galaxy later this month.
When asked about being concerned with David's absence, Captain Landon Donovan had this to say: "I would normally say yeah, but every year we’ve spent significant time without David, whether it’s been injuries or he’s been away. This team knows how to gel quickly and David conversely does a good job of coming into the team. The expectation is to have him back relatively soon.”
Just when Beckham is supposed to return is unknown, even to Galaxy officials. “He'll be back this month, the exact date we haven't finalized but he'll be back in February,” said Galaxy coach Bruce Arena.
Beckham’s only full season thus far has been 2008, the only one of his four full campaigns where he did not seek out a loan. After spending the first half of 2009 and 2010 with AC Milan, Beckham unsuccessfully sought out a loan to Spurs this January.
While the deal never materialized, Donovan said he would not expect Beckham to return with any negativity. “He has never been that kind of guy who is going to moan. When he’s here, he wants to play, he wants to win. I’m sure the day he gets back here he’s going to be ready to go.”
Meanwhile, Arena said Beckham’s offseason needs were met even if he isn’t around to start the preseason with the Galaxy. “One thing he needed was, he needed a break. He worked real hard just to get back on the field last year coming off his Achilles injury. I think he needed some time away from the game. Then he also needed a slow buildup into the season and I think he's getting that.”
In related news, the Galaxy will be unveiling their regular season schedule for 2011 on February 10th.
