Really? Quicktime is pretty amazing for professional filmmaking. The Quicktime X player sucks though.
Meh, just move on to iMovie/FCP and call it a day.

BTW Macaholic, how did you get sooooo much folding power?!? And are you folding for Team MR?!?
Bought it or built it myself. A man has to have a hobby. ;) I fold with Team MacOS X. Calling all Mac folders. Please spread the SMP client news (http://forum.folding-community.org/viewtopic.php?t=16715&highlight=) far and wide. Oh, did I mention it is SPEEDY and worth your time?! Can you say NATIVE?! I thought so. Now GO! :D

They both sound way too expensive for the specs involved. You should be able to find a DP 2.0ghz Powermac G5 for around $200-250 these days. An iMac G4 should not sell for over $100 imo, unless its the rare 20" model.
If you are short on cash but still want some power, look towards the higher end Powermac G4's. A DP 1.25 or 1.4ghz powermac will outperform the SP Powermac G5, and can usually be had for about $150.
Like the title says. It really REALLY depends on where you live for mac prices. I was shocked that prices where cheaper in Alaska before I moved here to california.
There were ton of great deals on Criag's List up there for gear, but down here close to Cupertino? Holy hell, you would think mac users are offering up their first born for a 1st gen 17' iMac G4.
I had to turn to Mac of all trades for a better deal. ( I do not work for them or are in anyway affiliated with them. But in my price range a few months back this single 1.8, now with a dual OWC from eBay was the best monetary solution to upgrade from my DA dual 533.

I plan to meet, I'm 24
but of note:
The specialty program "A Day at the Office: Microsoft Office 2008" will be ending with a panel session with the MacBU group at 6:30 on Monday and I will be attending... I assume no one else here will have this problem, but just saying.

carrie underwood updos 2010I was lazily browsing through the sale flyers of my Sunday paper when a thought (the merit of which I'll leave for you to decide) occurred to me:
There is now heavy marketing of the fall fashions, which, as always, include sweaters. Now, these sweaters are quite colorful and come in a seemingly infinite array of patterns. As I surveyed the dizzying displays, I noted that it is widely accepted in many contexts of life to decorate one's torso with a colorfully patterned shirt, no matter the season. On the other hand, if one were to attempt wearing similarly expressive attire on his lower half, he would be mistaken for an out-of-touch golfer (or trendsetting one, depending on your perspective), a professional clown, perhaps, or someone who forgot to change out of his pajamas. Why is this? I do not believe that there is anything inherent in pants or the wearing of pants that would require them to stay below a specified level of colorfulness. How did it come about that we accept a colorful torso without question but have strong suspicions about the mental stability of one who wears expressive pants?
Just wondering what you all thought about that. Some may say that the combination of wild shirts with pants is too much, and I agree, but I ask why not have a plain shirt and wild pants? Why hasn't this reverse taken root instead of the norm?
Carrie Underwood PromYour baseband is not an exclusive version :/ It is in the family of sad un-unlockable children. Your brothers and sisters are 02.10 and 04.10. The golden child is 01.59.
Haha sorry, it's late t__t but yeah, unless they are magically able to unlock only 03.10, I don't see retaining the bb as any real value.
So the real question is, how big is the chance that a potential new unlock will only unlock 03.10 (and 02.10, which is what I am at)?
I'm kind of debating just updating to 4.3.2 (4.3.1 now) without baseband preservation and then hope a new unlock will unlock everything up until then. It's kind of a pain to update to a new version with baseband preservation, having to completely restore and resync everything...

Can you link us to the ebay auction so we can see some pictures.etc?
Blige - Bobby Pinned UpdosI don't know why TechCrunch is claiming this is an "internal GM", maybe they know something I don't, but as it stands it seems they are just causing confusion.
Duff-Man says....I suspect that someone just misunderstood or misinterpreted something they heard or were told. Perhaps what was said regarding which build to release as the 2nd preview got twisted into being *the* GM release....oh yeah!

The purpose of a copyright is to protect works of authorship as fixed in a tangible form of expression (i.e. a thing not an idea). The art, photos, writing and design you make fall under this category. It protects people from copying or redistributing your work.
The purpose of a trademark is to protect words, phrases and logos used in federally regulated commerce to identify the source of goods and/or services. It represents an enterprise or a business. It protects your company from other companies trying to look like you. In the case your your logo, it would be used to prevent others from using a confusingly similar mark or name.
It is common for certain types of expression (like a brand) to sit under both copyright and trademark. If you are trying to protect a title, slogan, or other short word phrase, generally you want a trademark as a copyright does not cover such types of expression alone.
If your design is intended to identify the source of goods or services (i.e. a logo), it should be trademarked.
While copyright registration is primarily an administrative process (you fill out a form and send it off), trademark registration is an adversarial process.
It includes a substantive review of potentially conflicting marks in order to prove your uniqueness within a market segment.
For example: say you are doing a trademark search for a local motorcycle tuner/builder called "Redwing Motorcycle Company". During the trademark vetting process you would probably get an argument from Redwing Shoes saying the name/mark is too close to theirs (Redwing does sell a series of Motorcycle boots, so they may have some grounds here even though they are in a very different market). You might also get a call from Honda saying "We are a large motorcycle manufacturer. We have a famous product line called the 'GoldWing'. Our corporate color is Red." You will have to fight it out.
Other companies will be aggressive in protecting themselves. US trademark law works under a "use it or lose it" principle. Read up on how Carol Shelby lost the rights to his famous Cobra car design. So many people copied it (without him going after them) that it was ruled that he no longer owned it.
So, understand that if you do seek a trademark, you need to be willing and able to protect it.
The key thing to understand is that Copyright and Trademarks are proven and protected in very different ways. Copyrights are low-hanging fruit and should absolutely be done. Trademarks are a longer, more expensive process and you want a good Trademark lawyer to guide you through the process.
