Hi, ive been using bootcamp for a couple months now, but just yesterday after turning on my mac + holding alt/option and choosing my windows partition, it goes to a black screen with a blinking cursor on the topleft corner. I dont wanna delete the partition cause i have lots of stuff on it and dont wanna restart all over again:(... Can anyone help please? Thank you

By the way, I hate saying this but it's pathetic how my iPhone can run video better than my G4. :(

It would have been nice to put OS X on my fairly new 1.3 AMD, or even the 1.6 P4 at work (if nothing else than to save the TORTURE that was my Win98/2000 install from HELL, freakin' M$. Now I can Crash twice as fast!). But we know that won't be happening anytime soon.

Can't wait to get a new Mac to replace my old one (that I no longer have BTW) after I move. Maybe a nice Cool (pun intended) iBook (c'mon 1 GHz G3 + 32 MB vid card), or an eMac to play with untill I can afford a new Tower. Who knows what we'll have by then?

GigaHertz, shmigahertz. If I can run FCP off of a 320 GB hard drive in almost real-time with out the crashing, I'll be happy.

Keep it and upgrade the RAM yourself. It's much cheaper.

I usually get my consoles straight from independent shops, or their suppliers. They're a bit cheaper and don't come with game bundles.
'Cept for when I bought my PSP. It cost �5 more ("um sorry we can't sell the console on its own"... d**ks!) but they foolishly bundled a brand new, AAA-tier game that I sold on for �20.

I'll try the suggestion of hooking up a monitor first. I'm currently formatting the HD to remove personal info, so I'll have to wait until after that.

What should I do with this machine? Should I replace the logic board? I found a used one for $100 on eBay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120709976056#ht_1480wt_931). I'm planning to buy a new MBP and would like to get any money I can out of this.

Like you said if you need a portable mac then get the PowerBook 15", if you dont need a laptop then get a G5 iMac but you would need o upgrade RAM in whatever mac you get.

Correct, pay a one time fee of $20 or $25 for My-Wi on demand. My-Wi on demand automatically creates a wifi hotspot when necessary so you don't have to constantly have to switch on and off. By far one of the best reasons to jailbreak an iDevice.

Wow! Just wow. First, your movie editor cannot change your source footage. Second, DV is Digital Video. If you have analog video, then it impossible for it to be DV.

You're almost making it sound like you're actually planning to lose your phone.

Hard to say but its not like I get free gifts on january 15th, so i have to go with holidays in that respect.

You will be fine with the D90 for many years. I personally wouldn't think of a camera/lens as an "investment" as it will not increase in price like a nice painting.

My personal choice in kit lenses would be 18-70mm and 70-300mm.

having owned every mac mini from 1.66 c2d to a 2010 2.66ghz .

you need to upgrade if :

1)you game a lot.
2) If you want dual screens of 1080 p
3) if you are a handbrake freak
4) if you want a 27 inch hi end led screen with 2500 by 1400 resolution
