It will be interesting to hear from people who have or are required to sing certain contracts with their employers.

I am assuming the employers logic can be that - "well we were the ones who really paid for your labor cert" and that may be true as far as DOL is concerned. But my logic is if I reimburse you that money a year or two down the line, doesn't that mean that eventually I had to pay for my labor cert :)

I am also interested to know what kind of contracts the employers are having people sign - reimburse us if you leave within a certain time frame (2 or 3 years from when your GC process was initiated by the company) or are the contracts more like - reimburse us full amount no matter when you leave during pending GC process.

How about you become core member and involve in overall efforts related to lobbying.

I promote more direct efforts like rally, mails etc than lobbying.

I never said current core members are not doing their job. I said that lobbying companies may be over charging where we don't have control.

I have a pending I-485 application (EB-3) and effective Oct 1, my PD will be current. My application has been pending for more than six months already so I will be covered by AC21. I never worked for my sponsoring employer but will be as soon as I get my GC.

I have a feeling that my green card is just around the corner. Spoke to my employer yesterday about my employment with them and it looks like they are changing their minds about hiring me.

I am so worried. Anybody in the same situation? What do I do? Will I lose the green card?

Going to India is definitely better. Especially since it is going to be your first H1b stamping.

If you register for a Canada stamping, a message pops-up saying that if it is your 1st H1b stamping, then go to home country.
As long as your docs are in order, you shouldn't have any problem in India.

Quick Q:

Lets say my H1b renewal is pending..while its pending I used EAD for a diff company than my sponsoring company( I will be with my Sponsoring company but in bench). Then my H1b gets approved. Can I still work with a diff company till I choose to go out to stamp for H1b and once am in US i can start working for my sponsoring company again?

read form I-131 instructions, where it clearly says, AP appl. is considered abandoned if you leave US before its approval. this is for sure.

How about a case where AP renewal is pending and previously approved AP has not expired?

Can you go out of US and come back before previous AP expires?

What happens when you are out of US on previous AP and "AP renewal" is approved? Is that considered abandoning I-485?

One of my friend's collegue had issues in getting his citizenship because he changed
job in less than 6 months of getting GC. Don't know too many details but I know that
citizenship will have issues..so pls check it out.

Reached TSC - 6/3
Receipt Date - 6/4
LUDs on AP & EAD apps - 6/11
AP Approval Email (for myself & spouse) - 6/29
LUDs on AP apps (for myself & spouse) - 6/30
APs (for myself & spouse) received on - 7/4

EAD app for myself is still pending - LUD is still 6/11. I hope TSC approves the EAD as well soon.

can i get a h1 done from a desi employer just to protect the h4 status and join the other company thats offering me a job with my ead.

the h1 from the desi employer will not be having pay stubs but thats only to get h1 status.

do they normally send a receipt notice for the new 765 application that you file to correct EAD error...?

i.e. if we do not receive a RECEIPT NOTICE in like 2 -3 months- should we follow up by Infopass or Calling 1800 number? OR just wait!!! for 4 months to end and then call and infopass

Secondly there are no "individual constituents" when it comes to Immigration Voice. This is an organization OF, FOR and BY the "EMPLOYMENT BASED LEGAL IMMIGRANTS". We neither support nor oppose rewards or penalties for or against the undocumented workers (illegal immigrants). Individual members can have their own "opinions/biases", but NO individual member can speak on behalf of Immigration Voice on major issues. As per my understanding, ONLY the IV Core team/Board members as a WHOLE can make such decisions.

Years and years of waiting? no kidding. Look at my priority date. And there are people waiting before me. You used a pre-approved labor and have been waiting in the GC queue from what 2006? Dude, in today's world, a reasonable wait for eb3-is anywhere between 10-15 years and eb2 is atleast 5-6 years. I am not mad that you used a pre-approved labor, though in my personal opinion, its a taboo. I am just saying you are lucky enough that you may get your green card much quickly than people like us who have been waiting atleast 8-10 years and trust me, people like your case, usually should be happy.
