omg, all this to work at a friggin retail store?!?! I thought you were applying for work at 1 Infinite Loop or something and "creative" meaning you were designing products... someone explain to me why would anyone want to work at a mall store?

It's not just a mall store, Apple is nothing like any other mall store. First no mall stores offer full benefits & retirement packages to there employee's only managers and above. Second the benefits and hands on training is incredible and they use you and train you so that you will be ready to work at 1 Infinity Loop or Maden, NC at the billion dollar facility. Plus they give you all the training in the world to be a teacher, educate another, work for other companies using Mac products and the list goes on and on. Yes they have an intense application process but once you're in with Apple you connections will never seise to grow. The atmosphere as well is fun, exciting and different than any other store.

best advice- talk to an insurance agent who knows the details of their plans and what is avail. No one on here can speak accurately as all plans as they all work different for diff companies.

Posted my mac pro 1.1 on ebay to end on monday. Looking at new mac pro, but hoping apple would do a minor processor refresh to include the 3.2 hex, etc. any history of doing this?

Personally Id go to 7.6 as its basically Mac OS 8.0 without the stuff that made 8.0 slow - on 68K Machines either 7.6 or 7.1 are going to be the best systems (7.5.5 is actually pretty horrid, 7.6 is much better).

It loads OK for me if I am patient.

Apple and every other computer maker is going to be held back. Don't you think apple had sandy bridge based computers in the pipeline

The biggest difference is others started shipping/advertising those computers before apple

These type of threads are not really permitted on macrumors, however if you go on eBay just type in the model MBP you have, or a similar model of it to get an idea of pricing. Gumtree is good as well.

My guess is around $100, so it may be worth waiting for a little while. At this point, I personally won't be upgrading for a while, as I'm not a huge fan of what I have seen so far out of Lion.

That's what I thought, if waiting a week or two can save me a couple of bucks, then its worth the wait.

Drupal here. There is indeed a learning curve, but it's flexible and well maintained.

Since I got it so cheap, I want to upgrade the hell out of it and use it as my primary machine (age of it be damned). I want to expand the RAM fully to 16 GB, put a fast 2 GB HDD in, and get the best possible Video card available.

Good for you! Glad to hear another PPC admirer is willing to keep his Mac going even when the nay-sayers shoot your idea down. My 1.25ghz iMac G4 is my primary desktop at home, and my 800mhz one is my primary office desktop. I have to say, 9 out of 10 people that come in compliment my iMac. :) Your Powermac would likely receive equal compliments from me.

2. What is everyone's opinion to the possibility that after I get this thing where I want it, Apple will drop support for Leopard and I will no longer be able to sync my iPhone, iPad, or iPods to it. I of course, Plan to keep my Intel Macs running on the other end of the room (along with my "necessary" PC) but since I sit in THIS chair in my office most of the time, it would be nice to do everything from right here...

I can't answer your first question, but I have to say that this will likely come sooner than later. Within the next 2 years, I'd guess. Apple has a tendency to focus on 2 Operating Systems at a time - the current, and the most recent. Tiger is just about dead to them after a very long and happy life - longer than any Mac OS before it I'd say.

Since Leopard is the last string that ties PPC users have to the most recent Apple tech they can get their hands on, I'd say Apple would support it longer than Tiger, but not much longer than they already have. The iPhone 4 and iPad 2 both support 10.5.8, which surprised me - to my pleasure - and I'd guess the next round of iPods, the iPhone 5, and the iPad 3 would support 10.5, but my guess is that'll be it.

My iPhone 4 happily syncs with my iMac at home, and it's entirely convenient that my old desktop is my media hub, keeping stuff off my laptops, but the convenience won't be a measure when 10.5 doesn't support my iPhone. I'll always have an iPhone, and I'll keep my iMac G4 going as long as I can. When they drop support for 10.5, worst case, I'll have to migrate all my media to my MacBook - even though everything in one place (even backed up) isn't my ideal safety scenario.

The word "New" is all over this ebay listing. I see that in the top area it shows refurb, but this listing seems to be a little misleading. One of your headings even says "Brand New." This combined with using an actual iPhone box that didnt come with this item seems shady to me. I may be the only one, but honestly i guarentee that who ever wins this item thinks they are getting an actual brand new phone, not a refurbished product.

I would be fine with UK shipping, as long as you're willing to pay the difference in shipping cost (what service do people normally use? I was thinking USPS first-class international?)

Has anyone had a Mini with the 2.0 Ghz Core 2 Duo CPU with 4 GB ram and now has the newer 2.66 Mini?

I am trying to see since I am selling my uMB 2.4 if I should also sell my 2.0 Mini from 2009 and just get a new 2.66 loaded with 4GB, not concerned with the HDD as I will get a 128SSD and use an external HDD for Data.

Just trying to see if I will notice a big difference especially since it will be my sole Mac?

The current mini has a better GPU. The 320 is much more capable than the 9400m when it comes to games and other GPU intensive applications.

It that isn't an issue it may not make as much difference. That said, if you manage to sell both existing systems picking up a current refurb mini might be the ticket. I especially like the mini server with dual 500GB drives.

Whats the point of banning if they can just make a new user?

Sometimes sites, like one forum I'm a supermod of, will IP Ban a user if members keep getting banned and they all have the same IP.

Yeah, that's a typo, I read the full article a awhile ago, and they were definitely G4's :)

The only thing i would worry about is if Nintendo pulls a M$ and when/if they release online games that they won't let you online because you modified your hardware.
