just tried and it didn't work. ipad keeps saying cellular data needs to be activated.

*just read in another thread that you have to change the apn. I didn't know that and try it. But someone else said it works fine.

I just posted in this thread http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1110889 that I don't see a way in the iPad 2 to change the APN settings. Not sure if that is new to iOS 4.3 or iPad 2, but I can't find it. Are you able to change the APN settings on the iPad 2?

I'd probably just do the base 13", if you're getting an i7 iMac.

Why don't you go round all 3 apple stores in the city , then go around all the best buy stores and then some other tech stores.

Well the Mac 9600 (the one I borrowed the video card for) won't really boot up and the buyer doesn't need it anymore. I should be fine for now but, if anyone has a card still I'd be interested. :)

Did you remove it from the original paired computer?

If you did try shutting down the original paired computer and then try to pair with the new computer it should work.

First, it's ALL 3rd party RAM, since Apple doesn't make RAM. They put other manufacturer's RAM in their computers. Second, upgrading the RAM or hard drive yourself is not a violation of warranty, so there's no need to put the original RAM back before service. Hang onto the original RAM, in case you have a problem with the RAM you buy.

My friend texted me asking if I wanted an old iMac for free, I obviously said yes. It is a snow 600MHz iMac G3 with 512MB of RAM, 40GB HD, and it works wonderfully. I'm currently looking for my 10.4 disks and going to install Tiger on it. Can't wait.

if it's still running OS9, be sure to upgrade firmware before installing OS X

Some companies (or models of drives) are down to a one year warranty for the retail packaged drive. That tells me they don't expect them to last to 3 years with any decent amount of regularity.

Buy a drive that the manufacturer is willing to give the longer retail warranty. The OEM drives will be the same quality but may have shorter warranties. Also a lot of times you have to go through the correct OEM to get warranty service on an OEM drive.

Looks like I'm gonna end up getting Leopard for $69 from my school bookstore. Meh, a T-Shirt is not worth the extra $60 though :(

Possible, but highly unlikely. Apple did this before with 10.1 for 10.0 owners (Since 10.1 was what 10.0 shouldve been, and 10.6 is what ideally 10.5 shouldve been) - Id expect it going back to $129, since its a full release instead of an improved Snow Leopard.

For now - in MAC OS X 10.6.7, I have found the answer.

The answer is: the parental controls. When parental controls are off then, the IMac will fall asleep.

Do you still live at home with your parents, or are you away at school? If you rent an apartment you should be able to buy renters insurance and purchase additional coverage for your gear. I did this while I was away at school and renting an apartment. It was only a few extra bucks a month for the extra coverage. If you still live with your parents they can buy additional coverage on their property insurance.

The keynote is at 5pm GMT time (i live in the UK). I'd wanna know what was release before i went to bed :rolleyes: lol.

I think last time, the video didn't come online until 11:30pm EST.

I called Apple, they said it's most likely a graphics card failing (I agree).

The weird thing is, is that 10-15 in while playing a game, it completely locks up, but the mouse cursor is movable (weird).

You have to hold the power button to get it to work again. But once booted back into OS X, it's slow, and the screen flickers once, and then locks up again.
The TechDoolDeluxe tests came back normal too....

This only happens when gaming for about 10 mintues, and then the lock ups happen. (weird thing is mouse cursor is still movable)

Any thoughts?

I know it's not a primary income sort of thing, but it would keep me motivated to continue illustrating and any money couldn't hurt.
