Whats the point of banning if they can just make a new user?

Sometimes sites, like one forum I'm a supermod of, will IP Ban a user if members keep getting banned and they all have the same IP.

So Im a freelance Editor/Motion Graphics guy with no real understanding of RAID Controller Cards, or how they work.

As of right now I have three 1TB drives inside my Mac Pro, RAIDed together (stripe 0) using the OS. No Raid card.

The drives are all 7200rpm from varying manufacturers. (not sure if this matters.)

My questions is; is it beneficial for me to get a RAID card to control these drives vs. leaving it to the OS to handle? Any suggestions for me?

I'll try to remember that when I submit and space things out a little better.

I've noticed it before but since I usually get on late at night I sometimes forget how many songs I put in and how many were already there that I just added to my list :D

It probably doesn't help I only come in to submit once a day and put in at least a half-dozen songs each time. :)

I've heard from AppleInsider that TRIM is long due to the macs and that Apple will enable TRIM support in Lion update...

After I've installed an Intel x25-m G2 SSD onto my 2010 MBP 13", the benchmarks were low compared to that on Windows platform. I also noticed the Apple's own stock SSD (mostly Toshiba or Samsung) have aggressive GC, but their read/write speeds are off compared to many decent SSD's on the market, like sandforce powered OCZ Vertex 3, or intel G3.

Funny thing is that Apple's own solid state drives has their own GC, and enables TRIM on-the-fly, as reported by Anandtech, but I wasn't very sure.

Has anyone have any ideas if and when TRIM will be implemented on macs, since it is really needed for people with SSD's in their macs?

I've got the IceKey and like it. Much better than the "standard" Apple keyboard. The action is very "crisp". It's a bit like the keyboard of a Powerbook. I'd go with it. As I recall it wasn't that expensive either. Cheers

Never had any of these issues. Used SL since it was released, and all the available updates. It's been rock solid.

Since you've pointed out a few of the apps already, why not try to eliminate the problem piece of software by process of elimination? Use one at a time, and find the culprit. If not, like the others said, do a clean install.

What is blank screen mode? I don't run mine in screensaver mode, I turn it on and set my computer to stay on and just shut off my monitor.

no one understands my hatrid of pcs. I have been using macs all my life. I learnt computers very young, and started with one of those old all in ones. I guess i am just not used to having antispyware and antivirus running in the background, unified menu bars, and having to fight to get software updates installed :mad: Luckily i was smart; i didn't remove anything from my eMac and didn't make my parents administrators, so basically I am needed to do anything to it. It should be in better condition when i get it back, seeing it will be used maybe three times in the next three months, giving the eMac a nice and very needed rest after two and a half years of great service.

I'll put $200 on the table. I know its not what you wanted but its an offer :)

I second Little Machines, it literally took me about 10 minutes to transfer everything perfectly. All attachments, etc. It also kept the organization of my messages (by folder), which was important for me.

It also transfers contacts and tasks very well. One good thing it does for contacts is append the category to the note text. Then when you import into Apple Address Book, you can do a quick find on the category name, and create a group for them. I thought I was going to have to manually re-categorize, but Little Machines saved my life!!!

The iPhone 4 was a failure at launch. The antenna is broken. It drops Internet connections and calls if held a certain. The glass claiming to be strong is weak sauce and the only good things on the phone are the cameras and screen.*
