Along with seeing the keynote you get to socialise with devs from all over the world and chat with 1000 apple engineers about any problems you may have and attend seminars on various topics.

Does anyone else find it really really really weird that Apple would announce it today and an airline that is mentioned is denying that a deal was even close to fruition? Someone got their lines crossed/translations screwy I think. Sheesh.:confused:

Not to be another bitchy Apple addict, but it's iMac. A single capital letter. Aesthetics are important not only in the computer but the name. :)

Ask the employee about on the job horror stories. then share some of your horror stories. Ethnicity doesn't say anything other than the color of the persons skin. However, intelligence and stuff are things that actually can affect wether you are qualified or not. Two quite different things, if you ask me.

Except race has been shown to have an effect on intelligence. Ashkenazi Jews are about 1SD above whites, on average (average IQ 100, SD = 15). Blacks typically fare about 1SD lower than whites.

All this image shows is that the person measuring the white iPhone 4 has no idea how to use a caliper. The idea of a caliper isn't to squeeze the crap out of whatever you're measuring. It is obvious that the in the right picture they are squeezing much harder just looking at the discoloration of the persons skin on their thumb.

Sorry sir, but you are wrong. The difference is only in the post-process of the images. Your "perceived" skin discoloration is because the second image has a higher level of contrast, thus blowing away the highlights and enhancing the midtones and shadows.

I got mine a couple of weeks ago in Japan (so mine's actually a Kiss Digital X). It was released 1 day before I bought mine. Jessops etc seem to have them in stock. I've not seen a full review yet. dpreview have a preview (http://www.dpreview.com/articles/canoneos400d/), the review should be out soonish...

It's not any "harder" to use or figure than iOS. Heck, the iPhone has a 274 page user manual... So much for "intuitive".

Sounds good. If I crash my machine on the way, I'll have this to take care of it. In my opinion, OS's should come on DVD until the time, you can reinstall them from any kind of crashing by booting in as root in the safe mode.

Did they change/refine the controller?
Not drastically. The Xbox button in the middle is now shiny chrome instead of silver. The analog sticks and d-pad are now black and not dark gray. And I haven't seen this confirmed, but it was mentioned somewhere that the controller will now ship with rechargeable AA batteries, and can be charged with the "Play and Charge" cable, thus not requiring the older battery pack. Again, I haven't seen that confirmed, but that would be nice. But other than the slight tweak in color, same controller.
What I really want is dimensions, or a couple of comparison pictures alongside the original console.
Here is some pics from the reveal on stage. The old console was actually just a shell, with the new one hidden underneath. You can see pretty well in these pics the size difference.

No way I'd buy something that expensive with Intel HD 3000. If you need the CPU of a sandy bridge processor get a MBP. The current gen of MBA is such a better mix of CPU/GPU for what the device is meant for.

if maybe if you go spec for spec but often times you end up having to pay for a bunch of crap you do not need or want to get what you want from Apple.

Take this. I needed/wanted a 15in Laptop higher res screen and i7 processor. I bought it for around $1500. Same laptop from Apple over 2 grand. I was willing to give up the alumium body and battery life because they were not as high on my list.

Or try this one. Someone wants a 17 (hell even 15 in) screen but only really need a core duo or a i3 processor. If they went Apple they have to pay a huge tax to pay for all the extra crap they do not want/need just to get that 15 or 17 in screen they want/need.
Apple Tax is in the form of having to buy a bunch of extra crap you do not need/want to get the few items that you do need/want.

Very true - component for component, Mac's are the same as Windows-based PCs. In which case, the only argument that can be tendered about the supposed "Mac Tax" is that Apple simply does not make a low-end computer.

In the end, with prices neutral, it boils down to personal preference and user experiences - in which case, if you use Windows and love it (whether it gives you problems or not), that's what you get. The funny thing is that everybody argues these points over and over but in the end it boils down to what the user prefers, nothing more. I base my opinions on my experience, those of others I know (both who use Macs and who don't), tempered with what I read in legitimate publications, which is all that can be expected of anyone.

And yes, some driving can be cut down, but not all of it. Plus a large chuck of driving is required, many people live in suburban areas and need to drive to work.

There was a study recently that showed that the bulk of suburban driving was non-work related and that most of those trips were less than two miles. We need to drive a lot less than we think we do.
