ok, i've waitd long enough.
is MWSF going to introduce any new products lik say a new iPod?
I've been holding off on the purchase until after the MWSF, so is it ok to order it now without having it be outdated in two days?

I want to create an interactive DVD that would combine different file formats such as video, flash, pdf files etc...

Does anyone know what software I can use to create such a thing?

Just so you know there are no military applications that benefit from this.

The training programs the military uses for training would benefit from this, though I have not seen them in person because they are classified I am told they take up a massive amount of disk space and everything in the simulation is correct in terms of physics. Though these programs run on Linux and not Mac.

I've not been into these conferences before now (I saw the keynote from Steve Jobs a) when the new iMacs were anounced, and b) when the new ipods/iphone were anounced) and since then, I've had a huge excitement...plus the fact, I'm in the market for a MBP and an iMac :D

So yeah, I'm more excited about MacWorld

It was an original disk. The problem with your thread though is that I cannot get into my mac osx partition, im currently stuck on the windows side. At this point all I want to do is get back into the mac side and delete my windows side until I get back to school with the rest of my mac mini disks.

So I have a Rev C. 667 powerbook and it won't boot up when I press the power button?

Any thoughts on this before I make a trip to the Apple store.....(oh, and its a work computer and they didn't get AppleCare - stupid I know, but I wasn't paying for it.....)

Howdy. I have a Logitech G5, Logitech G9, and Razer Lachesis. I love 'em all but none has a Mac driver. :(

Do you use a laser mouse? If so, which do you use?

(I don't game, but the higher sensitivity works nicely for larger screen resolutions and some graphic design)

Thx!The problem isn't necessarily a mac driver, but Apple's Acceleration Curve. It works perfectly with Apple Mice, but not so much with other's. Now assuming that your issue is tracking issue and not customizable buttons, then my solution will work for you. Download USB overdrive and install it. If I remember correctly, you will have to restart your mac after installation. Now their is a free and a paid version, the free will work just fine. After installation, you can change the settings under system preferences -> USB Overdrive.

In the picture below, you will see two sliders. I find it helpful to have the top slider near the far right, and the bottom slider near the far left. I believe I also set the mouse speed (found in the normal mouse settings) around the middle, but you can set it anywhere.

As far as mice with mac drivers, I recently purchased the Logitech wireless m510. I am normally picky when it come to mice, but I do enjoy using it. After installing the logitech driver and uninstalling USB Overdrive, the mice works nicely. I've only had it for a few days, but I love it.

If it is your first, then buy either the base 21.5" or ultimate 27". From what I have been reading here, those two are the best so far since the base model of the 21.5" is such a large upgrade from any of the previous models. Since you aren't going to do anything crazy like many of us, you'll be pleasantly surprised with an iMac.

You can ONLY do a tethered jailbreak on 4.3 (or 4.3.1) currently.. as someone has stated here..

Don't bother getting a pressure sensitive keyboard unless you're already a proficient player.
I disagree. Pressure sensitivity opens possibilities for much more varied playing styles; even if he isn't proficient at the moment then a pressure sensitive one is much better to learn on. Without pressure sensitivity he might as well just use the option in Garageband to play using the computer keyboard.

The long-standing www.aladdinsys.com web site is now redirected to www.allume.com. They still have the magic lamp logo and refer to themselves on the web and in e-mail as "Allume Systems (formerly Aladdin Systems)".

They changed in order to settle legal disagreements with Aladdin Knowledge Systems (www.ealaddin.com (http://www.ealaddin.com/) or www.aladdin.de ( http://www.aladdin.de/)), maker of dongles and other security products. I happen to use products of both companies, and I sometimes went to one web site when I meant the other. There was probably longstanding confusion between the companies (and maybe also with Aladdin Enterprises (www.aladdin.com/index2.html (http://www.aladdin.com/index2.html)), the original maker of Ghostscript).

Aladdin Systems must have had little choice but to make this change, because they are sacrificing a huge amount of name recognition.

I wonder why they picked "Allume" as their new name. And why not call themselves StuffIt after their most famous product, since they already have www.stuffit.com (http://www.stuffit.com/)?

I used to buy lots of single player games way back, but these days i find the AI in the types of games i like to play to be far to predictable, gets boring very quickly :rolleyes:

I think the only recent single player game i played through was HalfLife 2, and of course epesode1, but i mainly bought HL2 for the multiplayer mods and other content

The new Radeon 6 series including EyeComfort .. you should check their website more often :D
