Another vote for Seagate. That's what came in my PM G5, and I added another recently with which I'm very pleased. Quiet...no problems.

I almost pulled the trigger on Super Stardust HD. There's a bundle of the game with the DLC for $14.99 which seemed like a good deal, but then I saw the Gundemonium Collection bundle which looked really sweet so I ended up getting that. Geez if I had seen that game to begin with I could have saved myself from making a thread! :D

It's a set of 3 chaotic anime-style shooters, that get pretty difficult. They're short (I already beat one) but they're totally worth playing over and over.

Though next time i have $15 sitting in my PSN account I'll get Super Stardust HD, the demo was really fun. :p

Thank you for your advice and help. However, because this particular iMac G4 didn't look so good, I am no longer interested in it. I did, though, buy an iMac G5 17" (1.8 GHz with Bluetooth Keyboard & Mouse) for $328.95. Earlier today, I tried to bid on a iMac G5 with an Intel processor that was running Snow Leopard. I lost by $5.01! :( I wanted that one so badly!

You can get a lower MHz iBook for hardly anything on eBay. A new iBook from the Educational Store runs $949.

Ga I wish Bartlesville schools had at least a few macs that weren't from 1998. If only they new what potential could come of putting a little bit of creativity into the classroom instead of working on cheap Dells with outdated software. I mean the computers at my school don't even have Cd burners when I was writing the school paper they expected us to use floppy discs all the time. At least Apple finally put an Apple Store in Tulsa can't wait for friday.

Are you talking about the mac mini or the mac mini server?

if it's the dual HD server, then you won't get a built in DVD drive.

Personally if you want to keep power down, i'd invest in something like a qnap TS410 NAS. It'll take 4 drives, up to 8TB and will allow you to protect the data by using RAID 1,5 or 6. You can plug your existing external drives into it. It has built in mac/win/ftp sharing, upnp, itunes sharing, iphone access and will draw less than 40 watts at peak usage. Then use your dell for ripping dvd's. I'm assuming it's a hackintosh if you are running handbrake?

Whats the interface like? I am put off by linux web interfaces, id rather have something like logmein. if that makes sense? I feel its more controllable...but please correct me if im wrong

I'm surprised this compiles (i.e. that you only get errors when linking). The line

Where you define the code, you need to put in classname::functionname

Do this for every function you define. This need not be done if you are within the class declaration.

How well does the Trim protect your phone? If I dropped my iPhone on a parking lot from about 3 feet do you think it would be ok?

I think it would help proptect the phone in a 3 foot drop, but I'm not willing to intentially test that for you. I actually use a belikn armband designed for the ipod touch (DualFit) because I already owned it.

SMC might help with some fan, unexpected power-offs or slow performance issues, but not heat-related shutdowns, as the OP described.

My apologies. I've always just done a PRAM reset after an SMC reset, as kind of a "cover all bases" kind of thing.

Thanks for pointing that out though. :) Funny thing is, I've read that article before, but I was never actually sure what exactly was stored in PRAM, woe is me!

I have picked up some pretty good deals on Ebay and almost all of them were in great shape. :)
