Works perfectly for me (using Air Video and the latest beta server) since 4.3 came out.

hmmmm mine has never worked. the audio always works but i can never see the video part. pictures also work as well.

i think we may see MB w/ MBP with shuffle and xserve. i level and pro level traffic at the apple store will sell llot of laptops, especially if their curent.

so any updates for this? cuz the widget doesn't seem to be working for me

Can't believe aperture doesn't support more RAW types yet.

Until it supports more/all of the raw types, it will never be a real 'pro' application imho

That's because it is capacitive, meaning it is a surface that senses the ouch, not an actual button.

But it looks like someone masked over the circle and tried to overlay the square. I'm not saying it looks weird because it's capacitive - because that's just obviously different - but because it looks to have been altered.

Are people overestimating Apple's motives? Could it perhaps not be a masterplan but just that the new motherboard, etc they are using just happens to have this component so it's been included?

That could explain why it's hidden around the back. If being placed on the back is deliberate it could just be for aesthetics sake as ports on the front will look messy.

If Apple really wants to gain significant market share, it's going to have to advertise to people other than yuppies. I AM a yuppie and Apple's advertising and general attitude are a huge turn off for me.

Working class America is intimidated by snobbery and will always feel more comfortable with down-to-earth, Wal-Marty companies. If Apple wants to gain users, it needs to find an innovative way to advertise to both it's existing yuppie constituency and common consumers. Otherwise they can forget about rising higher than a low double digit percentage.

I think that Apple was probably aiming to make Pages into a desktop publishing program but then found halfway through that most of the features added in were pretty similar to what word has. Maybe that's why Jobs decided to put it head to head with Word?
Word is great for standard, no non-sense typing. But as soon as you start getting a long document with various pictures and a self-updating table of contents (ie proper layout and publishing stuff) it becomes more and more awful. Once you have an 40+ pages almost everytime you move an image slightly you know its going to destroy your document. It has brought me to the point that I just want to throw my computer out of the window various times. (This was a PC by the way, I always forgive my mac by just telling myself that microsoft are the people that put me in this nightmarish situation :rolleyes: ).
Lets just hope Apple implements some major improvements to Pages in the next release. I wouldn't mind having a program that can do layout AND word-processing properly!

BTW - using Time Machine with this is a really bad idea!

Yes, but, the mac mini is designed as a desktop, since it needs an external monitor. Although, I'm fairly certain, that, as people posted above, this card reader was put in there for apple's video editing customers, since apple does make a nice business in that industry.

If you watch the 2nd Youtube video, at around 40-43 seconds you will see the volume buttons dont have their engraved "+" and "-" markers, so this is definately a prototype phone. I also noticed where the rear camera is there is no silver ring around it as well. It also looks as if the antenna is also painted, but this is probably the light reflecting plus the very visible "ring" around the home button (raised). On the same video at 1.08 in the Settings screen you will see "Carrier Settings" with a new "C" logo, plus "Developer" with the "D" and "Internal Settings" with an "M" logo. At 1.13 you will then see when he choses "Carrier Settings" you will see "Show WiFi RSSI" / "Show Internal Apps" / "VMAC" which to me seems to possibly mean "VirtualMAC" which may be the reason for the new search function as well. Under "Logging" in "Carrier Settings" you see "Logging" / "Baseband" and "Enable VM Logging". At 1.15 I could make out the following options "Enable Bypass Mode" / "Activate Bluetooth Test Mode" / "Activate Data PDF Context" / "Deactivate Data PDF Context" and "Ping Testing". At 1.25, I also noticed under "General" an option that says "File Sharing"

So far, most of these options seem to indicate this is a test version of iOS.

I thought there were some free map/gps/turn-by-turn direction apps out there (ala Google Maps). Is this not the case? Can anyone tell me why you would want to purchase one of the Garmin/Tom-Tom apps?

Google Maps will give you directions, but will not give you a turn-by-turn 3D view that tracks your position and shows you which lanes to get in, etc.... Google has a turn-by-turn nav app for Android though.

Also, Navigon and Tom-Tom will download all the maps you purchased with the app, so you have access to maps even when hiking or driving on a remote trail where there is no service available. Both Navigon and Tom-Tom are moving toward a model where if the map is wrong you can report that it is incorrect and they can fix it faster and provide updates.

Real-time maps means they are up-to-date, when you have network (similar to Google Maps).

I think Garmin failed on this one -- additionally the interface looks a bit cartoony.
