Really been into computers my whole life. Since I am only 27, I am just getting up to speed. I have had varying exposure to all makes of computers. The Mac Community operates on a near, excuse me, holy hatred of Micro$oft.

I purchased my first Mac a few years ago, a portable, codenamed WallStreet. Why I bought was simple. I LOVE computers!! Now I am a repeat buyer! I now have an "Ivory " TIBook!

As a final note, iChat is great! And Windoze users see silvery OS Brillance!

As a footnote, I am Certified A+ in microcomputer repair. There is a SERIOUS lack of knowledge that the Mac came first!

A Mac isn't designed for gaming. It will work, but if your primary concern is games, then you really should look elsewhere.

i have four LaCie d2 form factor drives in a LaCie desk rack. I've used d2's for years, no problems whatsoever. They are quiet and reliable, and, if you're getting more than one eventually, the rack is very nice.

Ok, so I decided to buy SL 10.6 and a new HDD, but does anyone know if I have to first setup the new drive with the original disks 10.5 that came with the uMB, or can I just use SL 10.6? I also have the application disk with iLife 09 which I know I can instal after the OS.

When Apple sells SL do they include any other drivers and software so that I can just install using the SL disk?

Trying to make sure I am clear in what I am stating only because I do not want to have to load the original discs.

Of course if Apple is exploring HyperTransport as a system bus, you'd expect some AMD people to be around the Apple campus.

But of course that's too simple an explanation.

It looks like you can script Mail with AppleScript. Take a look at the extensive list. There might be just what you need there. Or you might find something close that can be modified to do the job.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that adding hdmi to the box is more or less a marketing ploy rather than a necessity.

This is what alot of people believe but try and find a 1080p HDTV in the UK that can display 1080p from a source other than HDMI. All the major brands of HDTVs I looked at will only display a 1080p from HDMI although you can use component to display 1080i. Kind of defeats the purpose of buying a 1080p set though.

I don't like Graphite because it's not grey, it's slightly purple grey, which I think doesn't look good for some reason. I would love a black glossy theme, or that you can choose any color from a color picker (for the buttons and scroll bars).

Also that is one sure way to fry your Mac. Power surge can happen at any time.. Do you really trust those $100 surge boards for 24/7 use or do you have UPS.

Also think of how much dust gets in there...
