I think this is the first year that everything in my house is all automatically adjusted. Except the kids who didn't get the memo. Instead of waking an hour later they got up 1.5 hours early.

I think you're misinformed. The current models simply combined the 1/8" in and out jacks into one port (TRRS), just like the port on the iPhone. For example, you can plug your iPhone headphones into your Mac for use as a headset.

And how many Ipad-1 owners have yet to upgrade, those stats aren't given. If you are happy with what you have are you going to switch when you do upgrade, for the Average Joe probably not. I personally know just as many people who refer to Verizon as Whorizon as other who refer to ATT as the Death Star.

I understand why people like iOS, and it is useful for a lot of things. Productivity is far behind novelty/entertainment at this time, but iOS will become far more versatile when the portable hardware ups a few leaps.

iOS 9 + iPad 5 might be worth the hype. IMO

Since the Mic port turned into Line-In, there hasn't been any power on the port, requiring a powered input or amp. However, on the Headset jacks that support the iPhone mic on them, do have a built-in mic, even on the MacBook, but only when using the 3rd sleeve that the iPhone mic cable has.

Hence why I said he was referring to headsets that DON'T support said jack which there are more of than there are that do support the jack.

I'm a bit confused, because, I can't update the EFI ... I strictly followed the instructions. Poweron while holding the power button... then some secondes after speed flashs of the led (I mean stroboscopic) and then just a long BIIIIIP and normal boot after that ...

Did you check your current firmware revision against the update? Maybe your firmware is already up to date.

It looks neat. It makes me wonder how well that new color is going to show dust and dirt getting stuck in the seams and crevices.

The .mac mail has been an embarrassment to Apple for some time. Ugly as sin and very limited. Strange, but Comcast updated their webmail interface this week also. The one feature I wish that Apple would add (unless I've missed it) is a button for "report as spam." I get more spam from my .mac account than from my Comcast account; with Comcast, you can report it and have the sender blocked.

Of course, what you're implying, but not saying explicitly, is that Apple would never license the dock connector to a product that would be an adaptor to Zune. I'm not so sure that's true. Look at it this way, what's the best way for Apple to make sure that companies don't go putting Zune connectors in their cars and on their airplanes? Allow there to be a way to connect a Zune to an iPod dock connector. It's very magnanimous of Apple, but it means that Zune users will have one more bit of inconvenience compared to iPod users.

So, I stand by what I said. I believe it will happen... legally.

Good point (truly) ... but I stand by what I said too. I think if your scenario wwas true then we would see Creative Zen adapters or SanDisk Snasa adapters on the market - at least they have proven marketshare against the iPod. Still ... it will be interesting to see how this will pan out.

What i wonder is if the Wifi the Zune uses for file transfers will be banned on planes. If it's not, then i want to be able to use Wifi for any device on a plane.

I don't think that's true. I pretty much know it's not actually.

Shooting a 50mm on a 5d will produce a focal length of 50mm and a Field of view of 50mm. (50x1+50)

Shooting a 50mm on a 7d will produce a focal length of of 50mm and a field of view of 80mm. (50x1.6=80)

Part of the reason these two cameras exist is because one of them (5d) is full frame, awesome pictures for weddings say. Slow fps but that's not what it's for.

The 7d however is aimed at sports photogs or wildlife for example. Still an awesome picture, but loses some of it (including aperture, and the fact you can't get as smaller dof, and ISO and the fact you can't get the same low light abilities) for a much faster fps. The focal length multiplier will also help so that you can get closer to the picture with the same lens.

Same with their top two cameras one is the ultimate full frame camera (the 1D-s mkIII), the other is the ultimate crop (1.3) camera (the 1d mkIV).

Personally I much prefer Lightroom. There's way too much wrong with RAW workflow in Aperture.
