Wow, the only PC laptop I like is being recalled. Before I got my MacBook, the Vaio was the only PC I was considering buying.

Try a Thinkpad T-series. Best-built for the money, with user-replaceable parts (try finding that on most machines today), and a keyboard that puts all others to shame.

I just recently purchased the xion audio profile lp player which as a usb connector. I know its not professional level equipment.

I have been dabbling around with it and I have it connected to cd spin doctor. When its time to save the imported audio the following options are presented

so my questions are
Is audacity better than cd spin doctor for such a simple project
Is there a way to find out the quality of the audio that comes in on the usb cable from the vinyl player?
What format should the source files be saved in?

That shouldn't be the case as phone has her custom wallpaper and has still alarms are set. Phone is showing "iPhone is locked connect with iTunes" and after connecting through USB i get "iTunes could not connect to iPhone..." al below:

Opinion: Depends on the exact model of powerbook, but I give you 50%-50% of it working.

This is Crucial's generic laptop RAM. It's fine thing, but it is not guaranteed to work on Powerbooks. Crucial's Powerbook RAM is a special build CT12864X335AP or CT12864X335.16 NewEgg of course makes no guarantee of compatibility. (you did see the review from the purchaser who tried 2 of these without success in their 17" powerbook, right?)

I recommend that you stick with a reputable vendor who tests and guarantees compatibility with your model Powerbook, has a lifetime warranty, and a no-cost return if it doesn't work.

If that Crucial doesn't work, you'll be out time, trouble and shipping costs. Wost case, you may get stuck with a restocking charge depending on seller policies.

I've been futzing with the same thing for the past couple of evenings. My purpose has been to see if it's possible to pull back the value from the ALS and scale/modify the point at which the keyboard lights turn on & off. Up until this point, I've just been trying unsuccessfully to capture the ALS value.

FWIW, your code doesn't work for me, but your call, in my code, seems to (replacing my malformed IOConnectCallScalarMethod with your IOConnectCallMethod). Thanks for that.

I think it's the part about accessing the ALS that might keep it out of the App Store. It was my understanding, when I tried to find some information, that this is the part that's unpublished.

• I knew of a good person in another online forum who died of cancer.

• There's a threat of Alzheimer's in my family.

• I leave my machine on 24/7 (screen turns off after a few minutes), so why not have it do something useful?

• I like to tinker with scientific software and command line apps.

My Illustrator class instructor does and one of our assignments was to do something of that depth. I'll try to dig up the website, if you're interested.

Home DVD

Mostly want to use the apple as a digital hub...
have 8mm tapes from 94 and now got a sony digital handycam
for video....want to covert it all to DVD's.
Will be going for an ipod (15GB)...
Have a canon powershot g1 and want to organize all the pics
from the zoom browser.

Want to go with the 512MB memory.....need more? less?

2nd DVD/CD drive.....does it serve any purpose..?

Let's say about 50 hours of recording.....Would the 60GB
hard drive be sufficient?

do i need the 128 MB nvidia card that is standard on the G4
advertised on the store system, ($1900+) or can i make to
with the 64MB radeon?

1 1.25GHz processor is sufficient for movie editing and
DVD, or is the dual processor utterly necessary?

Should I go with the apple monitor, (17 inch Studio) ...
really steep price.....want to buy it later....will the G4 work

Help me make the switch.

Your problem is that you formatted it as FAT32, which win7 doesn't like. What you need to do is create the partition with Boot Camp Assistant like before, but when it asks if you want to go to the installer, say no. Then use winclone to restore on that partition. I don't believe that it gets formatted in that process.

It does, as FAT32. That's not the problem.

Restore and jb again could solve your problem. Mine wouldnt download cydia at all but after I restored it did fine.

Restoring didn't do anything for him.

It isn't called a file server for fun . . . ;)

It might as well get corrupted during all the copying back and forth you are suggesting. Bits can be flipped and you probably don't utilize a filesystem that can secure you against bit-rot for maximum data integrity.

This information is a couple of years old, but should still work...
