Just a tip as far as geektool goes. Make sure you set the refresh times differently. If you have all of them set to refresh at the same time, you could run into problems.

I saw the Swedish "Millennium series" films a few months back a couldn't help notice that when the protagonist was (wrongly) sent to prison, it looked more like a college dormitory than anything you'll see here in America.

likemyorbs would be horrified to see prisoners treated so humanely.

First off way to respond to the least important point in my post, i actually kind of expected that out of you. Treating them humanely and treating them like they're staying at a five star hotel are two different things. You're not supposed to make it so nice that people want to go there to escape the real world. Why should my tax dollars go to playstations and internet access for child molesters and murderers? That's beyond humane, that's just plain idiotic. Why don't we just provide them with their own butlers and maid service while we're at it? How about a cell phone too? :rolleyes: What a joke, this forum sometimes feels like the twilight zone.

Despite what you, I, or a victim's family might want, incarceration is not punishment. Incarceration is the protection of the public.

Of course it's for the protection of the public, but it's also not supposed to be a pleasant experience, it's supposed to suck. If you don't think that, i don't know what else to tell you, you're just too separated from reality at this point to turn back.

I wonder how many of these posts are trolls? I haven't had any issues whatsoever with 4.3.1. I also didn't have any problems with 4.3; battery life has been absolutely stellar and call performance actually improved in 4.3.1.

The timing of all these "bitching" posts just seems suspicious.

Oh please - don't be so ignorant as to assume because you don't have any issues, that other people also must not. Do you think your usage of your iPhone is exactly the same as every one else's?

Exactly. If AAPL leaves the retina display untouched, and just adds the A5 chip, a new NFC chip, and with whatever goodies iOS 5.0 will bring, that to me is a whole new phone, definitely worthy of the 5.0 moniker.

You are obviously missing the point. Apple's new subscription model is preventing choice from coming to it's customers. How is that not a bad thing?

I think Apple's policy allows for users to opt-in to sharing their personal data.

I'm going to go with the La Cie Firewire, without question. It matches Apple products, it gets decent reviews, and it seems fairly priced.

I searched the forums but didn't find any threads about this and was curious so here I am posting my own.. well the story is: is that I haven't got a video game since december and was wanting another one.. and one choice I have is THP8.. however I'm curious as to how the game is. I have THPS3 for ps2, and I play it from time to time, because for some reaosn free skate and multiplayer never gets old for me... would the new one fulfill this fun as well?

This lawsuit is stupid. Both companies need each other. Apple needs Sammy, and Sammy needs Apple. And if Apple switches suppliers, do any of you realize how much it would cost? They do have a signed contract. And even if they do switch, how do any of you know that quality won't be affected??
Samsung is not a small player, and this lawsuit will not end well for both.

I know the reason, or the supposed reason (who knows, Apple has been as tight lipped as ever on the issue) . If true, its a disgrace it made it to the keynote presentation, without the issue being identified or a reasonable fix found. I don't care how you square it - being 10 months late for a device who has an average life of 12 months is utter incompetence and hence disgraceful.

Hats off for Apple sticking to it, but that does not take away from the fact that they should never have made the promise w/o a better understanding of production issues. The iPhone 4 design has been around since at least January per spy shots of the iPad before release. So, its not as if the design was so new that they could claim there was no time to identify the issue until after the June 2010 keynote by Steve Jobs.

Once again you are proving that you know nothing about production issues.

There is a big difference between making a few samples to show and circulate and real en masse production.
There are also issues with white products that only show up after a certain amount of time.
White tends to have aluminum oxide pigments and in many cases light inhibitors. Depending on the material used there may have been a delayed photo mechanical reaction.
That especially, when several layers of white are used.
But I am only guessing, the real issues are only know to Apple.

You also know absolutely NOTHING about the real issues other than what people speculated.

For Apple to recognize it and NOT ship it, just because they showed it proves what a good company they are.

Whatever time it then took to fix it is unimportant.

If you would be for once logical you could see that in Apple's eyes there was a significant problem that took time to figure out.

If there wasn't it would have shipped already long time ago!
